CREATING SUSTAINABLE LANDSCAPES
Designing landscapes with the environment and people in mind.
At Byron Bay Ranga, we believe in creating a greater connection between people and their environment, inspired by the Shinto principles of harmony with nature. We strive to create a beautiful and sustainable landscape that honours the environment, brings joy for years to come, and helps to foster meaningful relationships between people and nature. We design our landscapes to honour the land, respect the environment, and integrate native flora and fauna.
We believe in giving back to the community and the environment we work within.
Connection to Community
At the core of the community lies relationships that extend beyond geographical boundaries, both locally and globally. As a business, we recognise the importance of cultivating and fostering these relationships and the environments they exist in by actively contributing in various ways. Our contributions range from supporting education and participating in community projects to engaging in philanthropic endeavours. We believe that by giving back to the community and environment, we can positively impact the world around us and make it a better place for all.
Save the Orangutangs
When Brent visited Borneo in 2015 and witnessed the first hand devastation that occurs with destroying a natural ecosystem and the impact it has on animals like the orangutans, he felt compelled to do something.
Save the Orangutans as an organisation aligned well with Byron Bay Ranga’s purpose, ethos and values. Byron Bay Ranga believes in fostering natural ecosystems and landscapes, working with native plants to support sustainable garden maintenance and inviting nature back into your backyard for a greater connection to the natural beauty that exists. Therefore, we donate every month to Save the Orangutans.
Fletcher Street Cottage
Fletcher Street Cottage provides support, information, referral and advocacy to people at risk of homelessness or those already sleeping rough.
The cottage is a welcoming, safe and respectful space where people can come to enjoy simple, practical relief opportunities, find connections and access broader support.
We were tasked with Landscaping this space, which included raised hardwood veggie boxes, masonry stonework to create a gathering point and a low-maintenance planting schedule that would attract native birds while softening the building structure.
We were super happy to be involved & have the opportunity to give back to our local Byron Bay community.
