About the Role

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Horticultural Specialist / Lead Horticulturist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture and a dedication to creating and maintaining stunning gardens and landscapes.

  • Minimum 5 Years experience in landscape construction project management, and site management.

  • You live in close proximity to travel around the Northern Rivers for site inspections and meetings with the Ranga team

  • Strong communication skills and a passion for leadership, training and developing junior members of the team 

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Utilise expertise in horticulture to design, implement, and maintain beautiful gardens and landscapes.

  • Lead horticultural projects from planning stages through to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality and aesthetic appeal.

  • Conduct site inspections and meetings with the Ranga team throughout the Northern Rivers region.

  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional development.

  • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, and designers to understand their vision and incorporate sustainable horticultural practices.

  • Implement innovative techniques and technologies to enhance the beauty and sustainability of landscapes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in horticulture, with a focus on sustainable maintenance practices .

  • Proximity to the Northern Rivers area to facilitate travel for site inspections and team meetings.

  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for leadership, training, and development.

  • Strong knowledge of plant species, garden design principles, and sustainable horticultural practices.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently when necessary.

  • Dedication to upholding sustainable practices in horticulture.

 

Key Skills & Experiences

  • Education: Cert III in Horticulture

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years in horticulture, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Plant and Soil Knowledge: Expertise in plant selection, soil management, and horticultural practices.

  • Team Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client and team interaction.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address challenges in projects.

  • Safety Consciousness: Deep understanding of safety protocols and practices in industry .
